JUDAS PRIEST Singer Catches THE SICKNESS: Upcoming Tour Dates Announced
March 9, 2003Ohio-based cover band THE SICKNESS, whose touring lineup includes JUDAS PRIEST frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens, have announced a host of live dates during the coming weeks.
The band, who also feature in their ranks two of Owens' former bandmates, bassist Dennis Hayes (formerly of Tim's pre-PRIEST group WINTERS BANE) and drummer Tim Semelsberger (from an early Ripper-fronted cover band, U.S. METAL),will be performing at the following venues:
Mar. 14 - Sadie Rene's - N. Canton, OH
Mar. 22 - Jillian's - Akron, OH
Mar. 29 - Sherlock's - Erie, PA
Apr. 11 - Sadie Rene's - N. Canton, OH
Apr. 18 - Lighthouse - N. Tonawanda, NY
Apr. 19 - Reservoir - Buffalo, NY
Apr. 26 - Sherlock's - Erie, PA
May 23 - Sadie Rene's - N. Canton, OH
May 31 - Sherlock's - Erie, PA
Jun. 06 - Lighthouse - N. Tonawanda, NY
Jun. 07 - Reservoir - Buffalo, NY
Jun. 27 - Sadie Rene's - N. Canton, OH
THE SICKNESS, a self-dubbed "raging extreme-rock tribute" act, perform a set list that leans heavily on the "nu metal" side of things and includes tracks by such groups as DISTURBED ("Stupify", "Prayer", "Down With The Sickness"),GODSMACK ("Awake", "Voodoo", "I Stand Alone", "Greed"),LINKIN PARK ("In The End", "One Step Closer"),LIMP BIZKIT ("Break Stuff", "Hot Dog"),CREED ("Bullets", "What If"),PAPA ROACH ("Last Resort"),and DROWNING POOL ("Bodies").
Ripper, who is sharing lead vocal duties in the band with regular THE SICKNESS frontman Tim Zuver, will be continuing to perform with the act "for as long as he can stand it," according to a posting by THE SICKNESS on their official web site.
